Staying Active

     Wow, it has literally been over 2 months since I have done a ”Starting Vai” blog.  This blog category was created to basically chart the goings-on/success of Vai Athletica.  With a heavy heart I have not had much to say!  The world is still facing a Pandemic, people and businesses are just trying to hang in there.  Ya know it’s funny, some businesses have thrived, some have been created due to the pandemic, and some have ceased to exist.  I feel like my business is in limbo, will I survive the Corona and thrive after or will I die off like a fart in the wind, sorry one of my dad’s favorite sayings.  In all honesty, and with this blog category being about the birth and survival of Vai, I am now running this company and I have no idea where it’s going to go!  I have two amazing San Luis Obispo Cal Poly student interns that have been doing the social media content and will do so until September 2020! Holy shit what will I do when they are gone!?  Even with a full time job and a 4 year old I will continue to try, try to make something out of this company.  

    For right now I have 2 things I am looking forward to:

1. The Central Coast Fit and Health Expo at the Madonna inn San Luis Obispo is still scheduled for this September.  San Luis County is where we are based so nice to not have to travel, and we have already paid in full for our booth! 
2. The MCSC Mission Community Services Corporation gave our info to a company called EMPATH.  A Brand consultancy group.  They will take us on pro bono!  I have already had a quick phone interview with Owner / Consultant.  It went great and was a little scary.  A little scary because he is the first big time professional wanting to whip my company into shape.  Karen Garcia writes a great article about EMPATH on June 13th 2019 for New Times.  My next meeting will be in September, so cross fingers and send me good vibes! I feel very honored that we got selected for no cost consulting. 

A couple things I got going on right now:

1. I decided to do an instagram give-away and it has already generated over 30 followers!  We are only into our 2nd day and I have over 40 contestants.  The rules are to follow Vai, tag 3 friends and share their story. I actually got one very mean, judgemental comment from a person, and four awesome customers came to my rescue and re-commented defending Vai’s honor! 
2. I am going to launch my Kickstarter project using the video made by @coupleawanderers.  This is big, it could give us a huge boost in finances and moving forward with other ideas / marketing.  

     That is the going ons with Vai Athletica.  Short and sweet,  I will hopefully have good news to follow up on with my next Vai blog.
