Side Note:
I’m sorry I have not done a starting Vai in a while! We are still dealing with perfecting our product with the overseas manufacturer. We decided to upgrade and add padding to our sports bra, one can choose to remove them of course and it’s like they were never there. We received a lot of comments about women wanting them so to no extra cost to our family-based clientele we have upgraded!
This blog idea was inspired by my sister, partner, and best friend Mindy. We spent an amazing day together in Claremont CA and started it off with an invigorating walk on an adorable 3.5-mile walking trail. We both love to count women walking or jogging while carrying their phones! In their hands, what is up with that!! Well, we plan on helping with that! Of course, we had our sample bras on with our phones on our back strap and a couple of times we heard women whispering about it. And the day prior we were at Nordstroms Rack ( love love love Nordstroms Rack!) and I started talking to the mother-daughter duo behind me, Tristan always gets people’s attention! Conversation leads to the company and so I showed them the phone grip by turning around and pointing at my phone! The daughter instantly says ”I was wondering how you had your phone on your back” and of course I obliged and gave them the full demo! But this is my point with these two examples!!! Why won’t women Just Ask Me?!? I have had more men ask me nicely and curiously how my phone is on my back and after telling them all the unique features they ask me when we will be making functional clothing for men! Why aren’t women more bold and outgoing to ask What’s up?
Quick Tip:
Who Talks More, Men Or Women? The Answer Isn’t As Obvious As You Think
JOAN E. GREVE July 16, 2014
As tudy released Tuesday sought to answer the ages-old and oft-debated question, do women really talk more than men? This most recent answer seems to be: well, it depends.
Northeastern University Professor David Lazer and his team studied 133 adult subjects in either professional or relaxed settings and gave them all “sociometers,” a device about the size of a smart phone that measures social interactions.
Their results found that the gender who spoke more very much depended on the setting. Women were slightly more likely to engage in casual conversation during a lunch hour but much more likely to engage in long conversations during an academic collaboration. However, men were more likely to dominate conversation when placed in a professional group of six or more people.
“So it’s a very particular scenario that leads to more interactions,” Lazer said. “The real story here is there’s an interplay between the setting and gender which created this difference.”
While Lazer might have been the first researcher to use sociometers in such a study, the question of which gender talks more has been asked many times before. A number of self-help books have cited this statistic: women utter an average of 20,000 words a day while men speak an average of only 7,000. A researcher from the University of Pennsylvania who tried to track this statistic’s origin found that it may have come from a 1993 marriage counselor’s pamphlet. The pamphlet’s numbers were, surprisingly, unsourced.
In the world of actual science, one 2007 study found that women and men use roughly the same number of words a day: 16,215 words for women compared to men’s 15,669. And while one 2004 study found that girls spoke a negligibly small amount more than boys, another from the same year found that boys spoke up nine times more in the classroom.
Above all, Lazer’s study proves that the debate on the subject roils on. However, for those who still believe women to be the more talkative sex, this old Chinese proverb may offer insight: “The tongue is the sword of a woman, and she never lets it become rusty.”
So with every single study or article I researched it aimed toward women being more social and talkative or it declared that the same sex were equal when it came to being extrovert.
So please women everywhere let’s hold this info to be true come forth and inquire about my phone on my back!;)
