How’s It Going

Well it’s been awhile since I have done a Starting Vai blog.  I did not feel like I had enough to talk about on this topic in it’s last rotation so I skipped it.  I do not want to skip it again and I have mixed feelings that I don’t mind sharing with everyone. So the question of the week from everyone I know and run into is “How’s the business going?”   I always pause and think about how I should answer it. My first thought is to say it’s just “Okay” simply because I’m not selling my perfect number of 10 a day off the website. Then I think to myself we are in Fleet Feet Sacramento, we are in a climbing store Southern Mountain Gear in Guam!  Yes I said Guam, it is a real Place not made up! Hahaha! In fact Southern Mountain Gear has already reordered due to running out of all smalls and mediums!=) How cool would it be if we got more well known and sold more across seas first, I’m down for that!

 Where Is Guam?

Guam is a remote American island territory located in the Western Pacific Ocean. It is east of the Philippines, north of Papua New Guinea, and south of Japan. It is one of the Mariana Islands, a chain of mainly dormant volcanoes. Consistent with its volcanic origins, Guam is quite mountainous with a coastline of both steep cliffs and white sand beaches, and it is surrounded by deep channels and coral reefs.

The majority of Guam’s other neighbors are small Pacific islands. Tiny Guam itself has just over 160,000 permanent residents, yet boasts 77 miles of coastline. It is hot and humid throughout the year, with temperatures hovering between 75 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit most of the time, and humidity rarely dropping below 60%.

Because of Guam’s proximity to the international date line, the territory has the unofficial, but frequently used motto – “Where America’s Day Begins.”

So after pausing for way too long I answer with indecisiveness and give way to much information than that person wanted. Hehe.   January was a busy month with three events.

  1. Makeshift Makers Market (MMM)
  2. Fleet Feet Sacramento Get Fit Bra Event.
  3. Fit 4 Moms San Luis Obispo Grand Opening Pop Up.
  4. Fanny Wrappers San Luis Obispo Pop Up.

Along with a full time job and a three year old  ( turning 4 2/10/2020 ) January kicked my butt! I have recouped since then and now looking forward to filling my calendar with events!  Vai has 2 big events that I’m super siked for!

March 21st Health And Fit Expo  right here in our home town at the Madonna expo, with a SuperHero 5k run.  I can’t wait to see people in their superhero costumes!

Come this September 4th 5th 6th 7th Vai got invited to be a vendor at the Fairplex LA County Fair.  There will be a Health and Fitness section in the Fair and we will be a vendor! I am giddy from head to toe to be a part of this great event!  So between those months I need to get my butt in gear and fill the months in between. Wish me good luck!
