We all have choices!  For me I’m 42 I have two sons, the 1st I had when I was 20 and my 2nd at 39.  I’ve always been an active person who loves outdoor activities and always considered myself in good shape!  After having my first son, even though I was pretty young, it took me over a year to lose most of the pregnancy weight and even then I never achieved my pre baby weight or “body”!  Now I’m 42 yrs old and my 2nd son is 3 and I find myself struggling to get back to my desired weight again. I know I’m not as young as I was with the first and my metabolism isn’t the same but I also know it’s not impossible to achieve my goal weight!  If I set my mind and schedule to a routine of a good diet and exercise the desired results will follow!

What’s better for weight loss long walks Vs. Quick run?

In order to lose a pound a week you need to cut out or burn 500 calories a day!  If you ditch 250 cal from your diet you’ll need to burn 250 with exercise. Here is a way most people can burn briskly walking compared to jogging!

Walking:

W-60 min @4mph (15 min per mile) 243 calories burned!

Running:

W-30 min run @6mph (10 min per mile) 270 calories burned!

For a 42 yr old that has undergone 4 knee surgeries on the same knee walking is my preferred method of exercise!  When I do go out walking, hiking or bike riding I always go for at least an hour which makes me feel good about the statistics above!

It’s all about routine folks!!  If we get on a good eating routine and find consistent exercise days in our week, A healthy lifestyle is attainable!
